STUDIO PRACTICE

Studio practice is defined as the processes and experimentation that takes place in the artist’s studio. Having a dedicated space to retreat to, the luxury of leaving materials and works in progress on the floor, on the easel or on the wall to dry and coming back the next day with fresh eyes is the absolute ultimate for an artist. That said, creating on the go and setting up a “studio” space wherever I am has allowed me to explore new sizes and new materials that are portable and travel well. Having to improvise is in addition to often working amongst interested onlookers vs. a familiar studio space can provide new insights.
