In twenty days I’ll be driving to Toronto to attend TOAF65. Listed below are the behind the scene steps leading up to the big event.
January
Make the decision to apply
Update Artist Statement, Artist Bio, Artist C.V.
Select six artworks
February:APPLY
March: Wait for juried response to 970+ applicants while they curate the lineup for TOAF65
April Accepted!
Purchase Booth space
Book hotel
Attend mandatory Booth Camp
Set-up online profile of 10 works, 4 photos per artwork
Purchase tent rental, fencing, table and chairs
Purchase liability insurance
Purchase hardware to hang artwork on fencing in booth
Start creating new pieces in different sizes
Goal is to have 25-30 pieces available at booth that are different from the online section
Update all artworks on website
MayRoster goes live
Purchase outdoor storage on site
Create and purchase all print materials for booth ( postcards, business cards, bags )
Purchase Studio Spotlight marketing opportunity
June
Create and submit video for Studio Spotlight
Update final selections for online gallery prior to launch
Finish paintings in Bahamas Studio and then transport them to Montreal
Finish paintings in Montreal Studio @artistgenerations
Ensure all artworks are entered into art inventory software management system
Frame all paintings
Purchase material to cover grid fencing where artwork will be installed
Purchase packing materials and create storage envelopes for each piece as all artwork must be removed, stored overnight and set-up again the following day
Create blueprint for hanging artwork on three sided 10 X 10 tent
Print all Certificates of Authenticity (COA)
Assemble Thank-you cards and COA’s for each artwork
Upload all new artworks into POS system
Stay on track
Stay calm

Pack the car
